Students and staff at Oasis Academy South Bank are celebrating the school’s best GCSE results since it opened!
Almost 80% of students secured a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, while 70% achieved a strong pass of grade 5 or above in both subjects.
The academy is particularly proud that there is no gap in achievement between those students who receive free school meals and those who don't. This is a significant accomplishment for an inclusive school serving one of London’s most disadvantaged communities, where approximately 65% of students are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
English outcomes were once again exceptional, with 97% of students achieving a grade 4 or above.
The results also included some outstanding individual performances, including two students who achieved a remarkable clean sweep of grade 9s - the highest grade available - across all their GCSE subjects.
Students were joined on results day by MP Georgia Gould, Minister for Schools, who visited the academy to celebrate their achievements and speak with them about their next steps.
