GCSE and A-Level students celebrate exam results 2022

GCSE and A-Level students celebrate exam results 2022

We are absolutely delighted with our first set of exam results post-pandemic, celebrating amazing successes at both GCSE and A Level.

These were the first external A-level exams for OASB whose Sixth Form opened in 2018. This year half of students going to university have secured a place at a Russell Group institution, including UCL, Manchester, Sheffield, LSE, Queen Mary, Bristol, KCL and Nottingham.

From Biomedicine to Pharmacology, via Diagnostic Radiography and Neuroscience, healthcare-related degrees have proved popular once more. Other sciences also: 15% are going on to study Engineering or Computing, while 10% are going on to study Maths. Arts and Social Science destinations include History, English, Art History, Acting, Economics and Business, reflecting the broad curriculum offered at the academy.

Congratulations to Shan who scored A*AA and will now study International Relations and Business at Queen Mary University of London.

Adillah will be going onto Manchester University to study Art History and English after results of A*AA.

And congratulations to Sobaan and Zaki who have secured places on the prestigious Procter & Gamble Degree Apprenticeship. Over 3 years they’ll do rotations in marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance divisions and secure a Chartered Management Degree at the same time.

At GCSE, we were delighted with brilliant headline results as well as wonderful individual success stories. Nearly 30% of all grades awarded were a 7 or above, an incredible achievement for our hard-working Year 11s.

Rihana Mohamed secured a full scholarship to Kings College School Wimbledon with straight grade 9s

Anderson has worked so hard over his time at South Bank and can be incredibly proud of his grade 7s, 8s, and 9s across his exams! We are also immensely proud of Shafi, who has achieved grade 9s in all his results and will be joining our Sixth Form to study A-Levels next year!

Anna Richardson, Principal at Oasis Academy South Bank commented saying:

“At Oasis Academy South Bank no child is left behind, and everyone is supported to their next step so that they will ultimately they will be successful and happily employed in a career with prospects. The joy of Results Days is seeing our young people reach the next stage in life well-prepared and with doors open to them to go onto the next stage of their lives.

“This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the students, and we are so proud of them.  We are also grateful to our staff team who have supported these young people to achieve their best and contributed so much to their growth, happiness, and success over the last 5 and 7 years. “
