Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Year 6 – 7 Transition 2025

Transition Day

Wednesday 2nd July 9:00am-2:15pm- Compulsory student attendance.

We know that families are an important part of the transition process (and often share some of the nerves!) so we would like to invite parents and carers to join us at the start of the day if possible, from 9.00am-9.30am for an assembly and optional coffee morning afterwards offering the chance to meet some more of the team.

Students should attend in their current school uniform and please bring along a pen! Student attendance is compulsory, so please do let us know if you think there will be any reason for non-attendance.

Summer School

Monday 18th-Friday 22nd August 8.30am-3.30pm

We are thrilled to announce that we have secured funding to run a Year 6 to 7 Transition Summer School for an incredible fifth year in a row. Our summer program will include core lessons to prepare them for secondary school classwork alongside enrichment activities designed to excite students and build a positive group culture. The summer school will run from 8:30am to 3:30pm each day. Research has shown that students who attend a summer school program make on average 2 months' additional progress compared to students who do not attend. We are therefore hoping that the vast majority of our incoming Year 7 cohort can attend.

Starting School in September

Tuesday 2nd September: 1:1 Meetings

On Tuesday 2nd September we will run 1:1 meetings which parents/guardians and students will be expected to attend to meet with House Coaches.

Wednesday 3rd September: Year 7 Induction Day

Excitingly, Year 7 will have their first full day of Autumn Term on Wednesday 3rd September and this will be a school day only for Year 7 to allow them to settle into the school and take part in induction sessions.

Watch the below video to hear from two students about their transition into Year 7!
