You apply through the normal CAF at Home | eAdmissions. Regardless of your borough you use this form and list Oasis South Bank as one of your options. You should fill in at least 4 options, please note that listing just one won't make it more likely that your child gets a place there. You must have done this by the 31^st October to ensure that your application is not held back.

If you receive tax or universal credit or other benefits, your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium. You can check this directly with your child’s primary school. If they confirm this, you should also complete and submit the supplementary information form linked here

There is no fixed catchment area for any school, this changes each year depending on where applications come from. We have students attending from as far as Islington and Croydon as well as lots of students who live very locally.

Following an offer from the Academy in March, you will be invited to a number of events to ensure that you and your child feel confident and settled when they start in September. These include:

• A welcome letter and tasks
• A transition day in July with a parent assembly
• A week’s summer school during the summer holidays
• A 1-1 meeting with you and your child before the start in September
• A year 7 only induction day

Following this induction, you will be invited to the Academy regularly for Progress Afternoons, Celebration Assemblies and other events.

We have designed our curriculum to ‘open doors’ and ‘close the gap’- this means we want our curriculum and the range of subjects that our students study to ensure they can achieve any career they want and have had the opportunity to pursue a range of opportunities outside of the traditional academic curriculum.

In Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) all students study English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, RS, French / Spanish, Music, Gastronomy, Drama, Engineering, Art, Computer Science and PSHCE.

In addition to this, all students take part in weekly Aspire sessions which help them to deepen their understanding of key concepts learnt in lessons, linking them to the world of work and interacting with employers and professionals.

At KS3 we do not set students based on their prior attainment at primary school. This is because we believe that keeping students in mixed groups demonstrates our value of transformation and allows every single child, regardless of starting point, to excel in every subject. There is significant evidence that mixed attainment teaching has a positive impact on student achievement as well as embodying the Oasis value of inclusion.

At KS4 we start to stream the students in some areas in order to offer the support required for specific GCSE courses. All classes are taught the same challenging knowledge but are provided with the necessary scaffold and challenge needed to support every student to be successful.

All students start school at 8.30am every day and finish at 3pm every day. At the end of each day there are a range of clubs and extra-curricular opportunities available. 

In Year 11, all students stay for an additional hour of compulsory intervention and bespoke support from 3-4pm. 

We think it is really important for students to feel included and safe at lunchtime. Therefore at lunchtime, each year Group eats together in their own space. Every child has an allocated seat at a table within their house group eating a hot meal which is served and laid out together. No student is singled out for receiving free school meals. Students learn how to serve food to a table and make conversation across a table.

We have a broad and ever-increasing programme of extra-curricular activities. Alongside our Personal Development programme, Aspire sessions and frequent trips, our clubs and societies timetable includes:

We know that for students to thrive in school they need to feel safe and comfortable. Every day, students have a half hour session of PFT (Personal Development Time) which is spent with their House Coach. This adult is their ‘in-school parent’ and the first port of call for any worries or concerns. In addition, pastoral support systems include:

• A Head of Year who is with students at all key points in the day and oversees their pastoral care
• Place2Be and Place2Talk – a specialist counselling and art therapy service
• A student support and safeguarding team
• Hub mentors – members of our fantastic Hub team offering 1-1 support for those in need
• A clear rewards and behaviour system with regular communication with families
